スラム統計

ＳＶ隊員の方から教えて頂いたデータの紹介。

Nairobi にある
Korogocho と Viwandani というスラムにて
ある NGO が 2003～2005 年に調査した結果です。


Top ten causes of premature mortality among the population aged five years
　　（5歳以上で早死した死亡原因）
１ AIDS and Tuberculosis　49.9％
　　（AIDS と結核）
２ Interpersonal Violence Injuries 12.1％
　　（暴力行為）
３ Road Traffic Accidents 5.8％
　　（交通事故）
４ Meningitis 3.5％
　　（髄膜炎）
５ Direct Maternal Causes 3.3％
　　（出産時死亡）
６ Pneumonia 2.3％
　　（肺炎）
７ Malaria 1.9％
　　（マラリア）
８ Cancer of the Gastrointestinal Tract 1.7％
　　（胃癌）
９ Renal Disorders 1.6％
　　（腎機能異常）
１０ Malnutrition and Anaemia 1.4％
　　（栄養失調と貧血）

病院にいると、疾患による死亡率についてのみ取り上げることが多く、
暴力行為や交通事故での死亡率はなかなか見えてきません。
そういう意味でも、興味深いデータだと思うと共に、
死亡率の上位に暴力行為が入ってくるのはスラム独特の環境なのか
ケニアの持つ全国的な問題なのか、気になるところです。

小児の場合、疾患によるものの影響が強く出ている気がします。
